Estimates, not quotations
Everything this site produces is an indicative range for planning purposes. It is not a quotation, not a tender, and not a bill of quantities. Our calculators apply published thumb rules and market rate bands to the few inputs you give them; a real quotation prices your actual drawings, your actual soil, your actual site access and your actual finish schedule. Expect a genuine quote to land inside our range — and when it doesn't, treat that as the start of a conversation with your contractor rather than proof that either number is wrong.
Rate accuracy and staleness
Indian material prices move fast and vary enormously by region. We publish ranges rather than single figures, attach the month each rate was verified, and cite the sources behind it — see How We Source Rates. Even so, a rate can be overtaken by events the day after it is checked, and local conditions — a mining ban, a kiln closure, a transport surcharge — can put your area outside our published band. Always confirm current prices with local suppliers before committing money. Current rates on this site are dated July 2026.
Not professional advice
Nothing here is engineering, architectural, legal, tax or financial advice. In particular:
- Structural safety is out of scope. Our steel and concrete figures are budgeting thumb rules, not a structural design. Reinforcement detailing depends on spans, loads, soil bearing capacity and seismic zone, and must come from a licensed structural engineer.
- Statutory compliance is out of scope. Building bye-laws, setbacks, FAR, approvals, GST treatment and stamp duty vary by state and municipality and change without notice.
- Contracts are out of scope. Do not use our output as the basis of a contract sum.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for the decisions you make and for verifying anything material before acting on it. Check that the inputs you entered describe your project — built-up area is not plot area, and the difference is a common and expensive mistake. Read the assumptions published on each calculator page; if one of them does not hold for your build, the answer will not hold either.

We work hard to be accurate — every formula is published so it can be checked, and every worked example is verified to reproduce through the live calculator — but we do not warrant that the site is free of errors or that any result fits your particular circumstances.
